The Occasion: Westmeath Ladies Junior Football Final played at Rochfortbridge on 8 September 2001.

The Result: Mullingar Shamrocks 5-7 St Loman's 2-3

The Match: The wind played a significant part in this final and Shamrocks used it to maximum advantage in the first half to secure an interval lead of 4-4 to 0-1. Shamrocks wasted no time and had three goals clocked up after five minutes thanks to a Tanya Farrell penalty and two goals from Lorraine Cassidy. Anne Marie Newcombe chipped in with two points despite the good defending of Aoife Davitt and Aisling Reynolds. Lisa Burke and Louise Begley dominated midfield, Anne Marie scored Shamrocks fourth goal and Lorraine Cassidy added two points before the interval. Shamrocks were first to score after the break when a Lisa Burke free dropped into the net; St Loman's began a recovery and Cáit Flanagan and Amy Mathews scored goals. Shamrocks responded with points from Carole Finch, Louise Begley and Lorraine Casssidy to complete the scoring. Shamrocks were comfortable 5-7 to 2-3 winners.

The Player of the Match: Lisa Burke

The Significance: This was the first adult title won by Mullingar Shamrocks in Ladies Gaelic Football.
