Round 4 v St Loman's ...

Our fourth match in the senior football championship takes place this evening in Cusack Park at 7.15 pm with D. Nugent in charge of the whistle. Our opponents St Loman's with an unbeaten record have already qualified for the play-off stages. We are in a kind of no man's land with four of a possible six points on the table. At this stage we cannot be eliminated if we were to lose our last two matches without at least a play off with one of the other three teams that can end up with four points.

Another possibility is that The Downs, Athlone and Tyrrellspass could finish in joint fourth place with 2 points each and our four points would be good enough for third place in the group. A win or draw on Sunday night will make all the other possible permutations irrelevant. So Mullingar Shamrocks supporters the place to be is Cusack Park on Sunday evening no later than 7.15.
