Our Div.6 team had a fine win against Coralstown-Kinnegad in Springfield on Friday evening. Shamrocks fielding a mix of the old and the new played some very good football in a game that featured goals from James Grogan, two from Dillon Matthews (the first was a really special effort when he won possession from the throw-in at the start and raced through the Kinnegad defence for the opening score), one from Jack Kelly (it was great to see Jack make a comeback with the Leaving Cert finished and the wrist repaired) and towards the end Paul Aherne got in on the goal scoring act. Robbie Boyle, who won an All-Ireland senior medal with Dublin (v Tyrone) in the last century when Dublin were glad to win an All-Ireland title every decade or so, did some fine high fielding in goal.
