Under-10 Blitz in Streamstown ...

Mullingar Shamrocks Uuder-10s travelled to Streamstown Tuesday night to take on the hosts St. Josephs and also Milltownpass n the latest Blitz. The 3 clubs fielded 2 Teams which ensured football was a plenty throughout the evening for all the footballers. Shamrocks split the 24 player into two teams and marched onto the field. As usual the spectators were treated to some wonderful football. It was great to see the competitiveness mixed with sportsmanship and of course the smiling faces throughout. No doubt Sean Corroon's practise sessions are paying off as many players showed huge signs of development, particularly in the tackling and teamwork area. Team mentors Seán Corroon, Adrian Regan, Shane Colleary, Greg Gavin and Vinny Timoney were delighted with their charges’ performances and clearly the work on Saturday mornings is paying off. Elliott Harte continues to improve with each outing while Ciarán Donohue marked his debut in the green and white with an action packed display. Conor Walsh was outstanding throughout while Shay Leavy’s tenacity, Paddy Colleary’s hand passing, Colm Clinton’s accuracy and fine displays by the Gilbride brothers, Zac Masterson and Adam Clinton were other highlights on an evening where everyone enjoyed themselves and the weather played ball too! Harry Tilson's efforts are also worthy of note; a newcomer to the game, he continues to show bravery and skill in equal measure. The following players featured for Shamrocks: Adam Clinton, Shay Leavy, Ruairi Kelly, Conan Kelly, Zac Masterson, Colm Clinton, Paddy colleary, Padraig Regan, Aidan Murtagh, Zach Gilbride, John Gilbride, Ciaran Donoghue, Scott Farrelly, Luke Kelly, Eliot Harte, Harry Tilson, Rian Sheerin, Jamie Timoney, Killian Hand, Cian Traynor, Conor Walsh, Oisin Gavin, Hugo Corroon and Charlie Murtagh. Many thanks to the parents, and indeed grandparents, who travelled to the matches, it was great to see such support for the boys’ efforts and also many thanks to Saint Josephs GAA for a great evening of football . Training continues on Saturday morning. Our next blitz is in mid May.
