ACL Div.1: Mullingar Shamrocks 1-6 The Downs 0-13.
Despite wasting a number of well created goal chances Mullingar Shamrocks entered the dressing rooms at the interval 1-3 to 0-5 ahead. Micheál Curley struck the goal post with one chance before Dean Moore eventually goaled. Daragh Daly, Dónal O'Donoghue and Ross Corroon were the first half point scorers. Three unanswered points on resumption established a lead for The Downs which they never subsequently lost. A Daragh Daly point reduced the deficit but the value of this score was almost immediately lost when Conor Murray added one more to his collection of pointed frees (1-4 to 0-9). Jordan Warde pointed to complete a move involving several players and a Dean Moore shot for goal bounced over off the crossbar to level matters after fifteen minutes. Unfortunately this proved to be Shamrocks last score of the morning and two more Conor Murray pointed frees and two spectacular efforts from Luke Loughlin secured the league points despite the best efforts of Kieran Gavin, Daragh Daly, Micheál Curley, Brendan O'Reilly and Dónal O'Donoghue.
