The Late John Hynes ...

The Mullingar Shamrocks members and executive offers sincere sympathy to the Hynes family on the death of John and father of club chairman Seán. In particular sympathy is expressed to Maureen (Carolan), Ber, Seán, Gerard, Ann (Hickey), and Kieran, his daughter-in-law Tara, sons-in-law Tom and Aidan, sister-in-law Nora and his much adored grandchildren Aisling, Rebecca, Cormac, Peter, Sean Óg, Eve and Rachel, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

John reposes at Shaw's Funeral Home, Mullingar, from Wednesday 20 February from 3.30-6.00 pm, arriving at the Cathedral of Christ the King at 6.30 pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday 21 February at 10 am, followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery.

The Hynes family name is synonymous with Mullingar Shamrocks and back in 1986 when Mullingar Shamrocks made the most significant breakthrough in the club's history John Hynes was President of the club, a club he held with distinction for a number of years. Seán, Gerard and Kieran all lined out for Mullingar Shamrocks whilst Ann represented the county with distinction in Ladies Gaelic Football and has the distinction of lining out for the county in an All-Ireland senior final in the sport. John's grandchildren Cormac, Peter, Sean Óg and Eve currently represent Mullingar Shamrocks at various levels.

There has been some fun in heaven since last night when Mick Gaye, Jimmy Fagan and John and Mary Hynes got together with the deck of cards for the game of whist. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis
